Built with Control from Start to Finish
Abtrex operates as a vertically-integrated industrial fabricator, blending engineering, ASME code fabrication, protective lining systems, coating, assembly, and quality control all at one campus. This reduces coordination gaps, aligns schedules, and maintains ISO-level quality control from design through delivery.
For our clients, that means fewer variables and greater confidence in the outcome.
Why Vertical Integration Matters
Complex industrial projects often involve multiple vendors, multiple handoffs, and divided responsibility. Each transition introduces risk: design misalignment, schedule delays, inspection gaps, or documentation of inconsistencies.
At Abtrex, projects move through a single, coordinated system:
- Engineering collaborates directly with fabrication
- Fabrication teams work alongside lining and coating specialists
- Inspection and testing are embedded throughout production with a unique ITP for every project
- QC documentation progresses in parallel with the build
There is no “handoff point” where accountability shifts. From initial concept, through final inspection, responsibility remains clear.
Engineering & Design
The process begins with in-house engineering led by our technical team:
- Designed to ASME Section VIII div. 1, API 650, or API 650 standards
- ASME and API calculations performed using PV Elite® and TANK® software
- 3D modeling and drafting using SolidWorks parametric design software
- Design-for-fabrication collaboration with production teams
Code-compliant documentation development
Because engineering and fabrication operate within the same organization, designs reflect real-world production considerations from the outset. This improves efficiency, reduces revisions, and supports predictable project timelines.
ASME Code Fabrication
Abtrex is an ASME code-stamped fabricator with AWS and ASME-certified welders qualified for pressure vessel fabrication and repair.
Our main campus consists of four buildings totaling over 55,000 square feet and is equipped with:
- Two 15-ton cranes (28.5’ underhook)
- Lincoln Electric CNC plasma machine
- Davi 4-roll CNC plate rolling machine
- Submerged arc metal welding system
- UR20 collaborative robotic arm welder
- 200–350 HP, 8,000–40,000 PSI waterjet stripper
- A 12-foot diameter by 60-foot industrial autoclave with custom cart feeding system
- Dedicated fabrication areas for custom industrial equipment and pressure vessels
Abtrex holds certifications for both the ASME “U” and the National Board “R” stamps, confirming continued compliance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Section VIII) and the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC).
The ASME “U” stamp authorizes Abtrex to design and manufacture pressure vessels in accordance with ASME standards, including material control, welding procedure qualifications, nondestructive examination, inspection, hydrotesting, and documentation. The National Board “R” stamp further authorizes repair and alteration of pressure-retaining equipment under audited quality system requirements.
Pressure vessels and process equipment are engineered and fabricated at the same facility, fostering tight communication and real-time collaboration between engineering and fabrication to ensure dimensional accuracy, weld integrity, and code compliance throughout production.
Protective Linings & Corrosion Systems
Material selection, surface preparation, and lining or coating application are coordinated within the same production workflow. Fabrication and corrosion protection operations take place on the same campus, allowing protective systems to be applied with full consideration of operating conditions, environmental exposure, and service environment. This integrated approach ensures long-term durability and consistent quality control.
Abtrex provides:
- Rubber linings (Soft, Semi-Hard and Hard Natural, Chlorobutyl, Bromobutyl, Neoprene, Nitrile, Hypalon and EPDM)
- FRP lining systems
- Epoxy coatings and tank linings
- Surface preparation and controlled application
Embedded Quality Assurance & Control
Quality control is embedded at every stage, not added at the end. Abtrex’s quality management system is ISO 9001:2015 certified, ensuring consistent processes, traceability, and adherence to exacting standards.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) on staff
- Non-destructive testing including Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT), Visual Weld Inspection (VT), holiday testing, durometer testing, and related inspection methods
- In-house hydrostatic testing
- Code-compliant weld inspections
- Dimensional verification and final inspection
- Comprehensive documentation turnover packages
Inspection and testing occur throughout fabrication, supporting compliance, traceability, and project documentation requirements for regulated industries.
Field & Emergency Services
Support extends beyond our facility. Abtrex provides:
- Field installation services
- Field lining and repair
- Emergency response services
Whether commissioning new equipment or responding to unexpected failures, our teams can mobilize to support operational continuity.
